Hi all. Our School is sponsoring a screening of Autumn Gem on Thursday,
November 4, at 7 pm in Gilfillan Auditorium. The filmmakers will also be
there to talk about the film. Please announce this opportunity to your
students. This may also be a good opportunity to mention to them the new
Asian Studies minor. For more information on the minor go to

AUTUMN GEM
A Documentary on Modern China's First Feminist

7:00 pm
Gilfillan Auditorium
Oregon State University
Meet the "Chinese Joan of Arc," Qiu Jin (1875 - 1907), a radical women's
rights activist who defied tradition to become the leader of a revolutionary
army. Qiu Jin boldly challenged traditional gender roles and emerged as a
national heroine who redefined what it meant to be a woman in early
20th-century China.
Join us for a free screening and Q-&-A with filmmakers Rae Chang and Adam
Tow.
For more information, see the attached press release.
Thanks.
